The Coronation Medal was created to mark the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III, which took place on May 6, 2023. This is the first Canadian commemorative medal to mark a coronation.
The Office of the Secretary to the Governor General is responsible for managing the selection process for the King Charles III Coronation Medal program. The medal will be awarded to 30,000 deserving individuals, 20 of whom will be from our riding.
Eligible candidates must:

- Have made significant contributions to the country, a province, territory, region or community, or an achievement abroad that brings credit to Canada;
- Have been alive on May 6, 2023, the date of His Majesty’s Coronation. (The award can be made posthumously, as long as the nominee was alive on that date);
- Reside in the constituency of Longueuil—Charles-LeMoyne or have contributed significantly to the riding.
